Aims & Scope
The Journal of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Epidemiology is a gold open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish high-quality research in the fields of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, including obesity, hyperlipidemias, fatty liver disease, and diabetes. Its focus is on the epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, and management of these conditions, with the goal of advancing knowledge and improving public health outcomes. The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, of epidemiologic studies or clinical trials, that substantially contribute to the understanding of risk factors, disease mechanisms, and interventions related to cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Methodological articles that contribute to the development of novel tools, or methods for better understanding cardiovascular and metabolic disease paths, are also welcome. Narrative reviews, and commentary articles on recently published research, are considered after invitation. As a gold open access journal, all articles are freely accessible to the public, ensuring wide dissemination of research findings. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
The primary goal of the Journal of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Epidemiology is to advance understanding of the determinants and trends of all aspects of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases across diverse populations worldwide. The journal emphasizes research that investigates the biological and physiological mechanisms underlying these diseases, including metabolic pathways, lipid, inflammation, and cellular processes. It also prioritizes studies that explore the genetic, environmental, socio-demographic, nutritional, behavioral, and lifestyle factors contributing to disease development. Additionally, the journal focuses on public health strategies aimed at preventing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases on a population level, including interventions, policy recommendations, and health promotion efforts. A key goal is to address disparities in disease outcomes across different populations by examining social determinants of health, access to care, and health equity. Research on the global burden of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, particularly studies that highlight disease patterns in low- and middle-income countries and global health initiatives, is also strongly encouraged.
