Aims & Scope
Ecological Innovations is a peer-reviewed, high-impact journal dedicated to advancing ecological research across all dimensions, with a focus on original perspectives, innovative research, and forward-thinking hypotheses that broaden our understanding of ecological systems. We welcome submissions from diverse ecological domains and encourage contributions that challenge conventional boundaries in the field. Our journal aims to provide a platform for ecologists worldwide to publish research that combines theoretical depth with practical implications, and our scope embraces studies that offer a fresh lens on complex ecological questions. It is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
Scope of the Journal:
Ecological Innovations is committed to publishing research that spans the entire spectrum of ecological inquiry, without taxonomic or geographical restrictions. We seek work that promotes new ideas in ecology, strengthens theoretical frameworks, or proposes bold hypotheses with global relevance. Manuscripts that contribute to a holistic understanding of ecological phenomena—be it through innovative methodologies, cross-disciplinary perspectives, or in-depth analyses—are highly valued.
Key Areas of Interest:
- Ecological Theory and Conceptual Advances: Submissions that propose novel ecological concepts or reinterpret existing paradigms are encouraged, particularly those with potential applications across diverse ecosystems and species.
- Biodiversity and Conservation Ecology: Research on biodiversity patterns, conservation strategies, and species interactions within ecosystems is welcome. Studies that explore functional roles of biodiversity, environmental DNA, and conservation genetics are especially encouraged.
- Landscape and Ecosystem Ecology: We invite studies exploring ecosystem processes, landscape dynamics, and ecological functions at multiple scales, including the responses of ecosystems to global changes and human impacts.
- Evolutionary Ecology and Phylogenetics: Contributions that connect ecological and evolutionary processes, such as phylogenetic relationships, population genetics, and adaptive responses, are invited to deepen our understanding of biodiversity and species resilience.
- Applied and Functional Ecology: Research focusing on ecosystem services, ecological applications, and human-ecosystem interactions, with emphasis on actionable insights for resource management and environmental policy.
- Behavioral and Community Ecology: Studies on animal behavior, community structure, and multitrophic interactions that elucidate ecological relationships and contribute to our knowledge of species coexistence and ecosystem stability.
- Methodological Innovation: The journal is also dedicated to advancing ecological research methods. We welcome studies employing innovative technologies, such as remote sensing, ecological modeling, and environmental DNA, as well as research using experimental, observational, and synthetic approaches to address pressing ecological issues.
- Editorial Standards: Our mission is to support rigorous, high-quality research that appeals to an international audience of ecologists and allied scientists. We prioritize manuscripts that are methodologically sound, conceptually robust, and relevant to both scientific understanding and ecological applications. High-impact manuscripts with broad ecological and theoretical implications will be prioritized.
By fostering a platform for bold ecological thought and scientific rigor, Ecological Innovations aspires to shape future research directions and contribute to the advancement of ecological science worldwide.
