Aims & Scope

Aims:

Bioelectrochemical Systems and Applications (BSA) is a gold open access, peer-reviewed journal published quarterly online by Scilight Press, aiming to publish review, theoretical, and experimental papers. The journal focuses on innovative systems and applications that integrate biological and electrochemical processes, leading to the production of biofuels, biosensing devices, electricity, and other valuable chemical and biological products.

Scope:

The systems include biosensors, biofuel cells (enzymatic and microbial), microbial electrolysis cells, biocapacitors, microbial desalination cells, bioelectrosynthesis (enzymatic and microbial) systems, electrochemical controlled bioreactors, electrochemical immunoassays, photo-bioelectrochemical cells, electrochemical bioremediation systems, and bioelectronic interfaces. The journal also emphasizes the application of these systems in areas such as wastewater treatment, renewable energy production, bioremediation, resource recovery, and analytical/sensing devices.
