Aims & Scope
Aims
Algae and Environment is an international and multidisciplinary journal covering all areas of emerging technologies and advancements in basic and applied research on algae and its biological, environmental, and even ecological applications. The journal also welcomes phycological research pertaining environmental functions of algal interactions with other organisms and ecological roles of algae with potential applications in environmental protection.
The journal has the long-term goal of advancing our understanding of fundamental processes in phycological research that emphasizes phycoresource developments and environmental bioremediation and advancing sustainable developments of biotechnology and bioengineering with economic, biological, and environmental applications.
The journal publishes original research work, reviews, and perspective articles on the expanding subject of phycological research and its applications, which should be in the topics, including but not exclusive to algal biology, algal cultivation and harvesting, algal bioproducts and biofuels, phycoremediation, biomass conversion processes and systems using algae as a main source, algal biotechnology with economic and environmental importance, and economic and environmental assessment of phycoresource and phycoremediation. Algae and Environment is published quarterly online by Scilight Press.
